IRON NEST Ballistic Calculator: Turn Map Data Into a Fire Card

The calculator is the bridge between map work and the gun deck. It exists to prevent players from inventing their own elevation. Feed it the current mission data, keep shell selection consistent, and treat the printed result as the source for loading and gun laying.

PRE-FIRE CHECK

Before you start

  • Bring the final map range and bearing to the calculator.
  • Select the same shell that will be physically loaded.
  • Use the calculator controls to create the current solution.
  • Carry the printed result to the gun deck and do not recalculate from memory.
01

Enter one coherent mission

Both indexed video walkthroughs place the calculator after the tactical map and before loading. Keep data from different targets separated.

  1. Confirm that the range and bearing belong to the current target.
  2. Set the target data on the calculator controls.
  3. Select the shell type required by the mission.
  4. Choose the charge setting through the in-game interface rather than applying an external table.
  5. Operate the compute control and wait for the current firing solution or card.
02

Use the output as a handoff contract

The printed solution connects four decisions: shell, charges, bearing, and elevation. A mismatch in any one can invalidate the shot.

  1. Read the printed values before leaving the calculator.
  2. Keep the card visible while selecting shell and charges.
  3. Match gun bearing and elevation to the printed values.
  4. Run a final four-value read-back before arming the gun.

Operator noteThis site will not ship an external ballistic calculator until the current formula and versioned data can be independently verified. The in-game device remains authoritative.
